Nike's Air Max Triax 96 Gets Bold Frogskin Camo Treatment
A military-inspired makeover.
Following its “Voltage Purple” iteration of its Air Max Triax 96 from January, Nike has unveiled a bold new design for the retro running silhouette — an intricate frogskin camo pattern in “Safari/Thermal Green.”
Dominated by the military-inspired pattern, the shoe is emblazoned with rich shades and tones of brown, forest green, light green and black, accented with hits of yellow, silver and red. A contrasting yellow “NIKE” label is stamped over the padded tongue, offset by round green laces that cover the central forefoot. At the heel, two silver-toned ovals are placed above a black rubber patch logo, complemented by a tiny red highlight below. While most of the body is tinged in camo, details like the light green Swoosh at the lower sidewalls and the spade-shaped overlay at the throatline add some interesting accents to the homogeneous pattern. All of these features rest above a slightly raised midsole that’s equipped with Nike’s essential Air sole unit system for optimal cushioning and support.
The Nike Air Max Triax 96 “Safari/Thermal Green” will be available on March 16, 6:00 AM EST at OVERKILL’s website for $168 USD.
Most recently, Nike has unveiled new metallic and colorful hues of its Air Max 90 FlyEase.
