Nike Unveils the 3D-Printed Air Max Link via AirWorks Program
Designed by Beijing-based creative Marc Su, the futuristic silhouette blends Alpha Project heritage with dual forefoot Air units.
Nike has officially introduced the Nike Air Max Link, the latest 3D-printed concept emerging from the brand’s innovative AirWorks program. The futuristic model was created by Beijing-based designer Marc Su as a design concept connecting community and culture.
Described by Su as a “link from Beijing for community to our Future,” the sneaker shares structural similarities with the Air Max 1000 while referencing design codes from Nike’s late-’90s Alpha Project era. The silhouette is defined by a sculpted midsole that rises and curves around the heel, supported by a layered backpiece. Smooth paneling extends from the heel toward the toe, accompanied by pointed upper overlays and collar openings. Anchoring the design to the core AirWorks ethos, two visible Air units are integrated directly into the forefoot.
Following a prior AirWorks project by Motoi Hatsuki, a small family-and-friends run of the Nike Air Max Link is expected ahead of Air Max Day 2027, with wider public release details currently unconfirmed.
