Big Sean celebrated his 32nd birthday today, relishing the moment by announcing the title of his next album, Detroit 2. The full-length record, which has yet to be given a release date, will arrive via G.O.O.D. Music/Def Jam Recordings. The Detroit native has shared a trailer for the album which is viewable above.
“Detroit, to me is home. But I feel like it’s more than just a city, you know. It’s for real a mentality,” he says in the trailer. Fans can also catch a glimpse of the inspiration behind the album and a taste of some of the tracks. Hit-Boy and Young Thug are both confirmed contributors.
The new project follows 2012’s Detroit mixtape, which arrived roughly a year after his debut studio album, Finally Famous. Sean’s most recent full-length releases came in 2017, with his fourth solo studio effort, I Decided, and his collaborative Double or Nothing album alongside Metro Boomin.
