BEAMS Plus SS20 Reimagines Preppy Trad With Workwear Cues
Prim blazers and sweater vests meet cargo pants and denim overalls.
BEAMS‘ premium in-house menswear offerings, encapsulated under the BEAMS PLUS, often shift from season to season, but have circled Ivy League prep in recent seasons, and Spring/Summer 2020 is no different. A blend of Northeast American favorites are realized alongside a host of complementary styles, including rugged workwear items and some mature takes on sporty essentials.
Dubbed “SWINGMAN,” a term that refers to a talented athlete able to handle multiple roles in their sport, BEAMS’ latest offering dips heavily into traditional favorites. Car coats, sweater vests, madras shirts and plenty of trim suits appear throughout, accented by mismatched “fun” shirts, webbing belts and sleek shades. Zippered work jackets and pocket-laden shirts add a gentle workwear touch, while more directional garments include denim chore coats and a handful of overalls. Yacht-ready layers includes windbreakers with printed lining and boxy anoraks, abetted by a small assortment of heritage sportswear, like heritage hoodies and knee-length shorts.
The SS20 goods will arrive on BEAMS’ website shortly, along with BEAMS Plus stockists like Goodhood and Oi Polloi.
