BEAMS Recruits New Balance, Arc'teryx and L.L. Bean for SS20 Bags
Offering both earth tones and retro prints.
Never one to slouch on seasonal collaborations, BEAMS is kicking off the Spring/Summer 2020 season with a Suicoke exclusive, followed by a host of bespoke bags. The special goods include joint efforts with New Balance, Arc’teryx, L.L.Bean and Japanese label F/CE.
BEAMS and its various sub-labels continue their longstanding partnerships with each label, imagining everything from lightweight totes to mountain-ready packs. Arc’teryx’s ongoing exclusives include a Mantis 22 backpack for BEAMS BOY and two shoulder pouches, all emblazoned with BEAMS branding and offered in versatile earth or neutral tones. Ostensibly a womenswear label, BEAMS BOY also enjoys another genderless accessory by way of New Balance’s “Advertisement Market Tote,” emblazoned with models from the latter brand’s iconic “When the going gets tough, the tough gets going” campaign, itself an inspiration to Aimé Leon Dore.
Elsewhere, technical garment and accessory label F/CE. serves up a 3-way helmet bag in CORDURA-woven nylon for comfort-minded label BEAMS LIGHTS. Offered in black or olive, the convertible carryall is lined in bold orange as a nod to vintage flight jackets. Finally, BEAMS Plus linked with L.L. Bean for a spin on the heritage label’s classic Boat and Tote in its Deep Bottom iteration, offered in both tan and “Deep Loden” makeups.
Expect the collaborative bags to launch on BEAMS’ website and at its Japanese locations in February, March and April.
