Reebok Zig Kinetica Concept_Type1 Gets the Gum Sole Treatment
A little classic style for two colorways of Reebok’s latest lifestyle silhouette.
Reebok‘s Zig Kinetica Concept_Type1 is a higly advanced lifestyle shoe with a technical upper and modernized Zig cushioning, but now it’s getting a little classic style with two gum-soled makeups. Arriving in an earthy “Black” and airy “White,” each pair opts for a mostly tonal look, letting its intricate patterns do most of the talking.
Layered style is the name of the game on both pairs, with sharply angled synthetics sitting on top of a thin mesh base. This is inspired by kinetic energy flow, and makes for a semi-translucent construction that’s decidedly more noticeable on the white pair than the black pair. Tonal Reebok branding is dispersed across each midfoot and tongue, with a technical strap allowing for enhanced lockdown and look alike.
Although the upper may be compelling, the midsole is where the Zig Kinetica Concept_Type1 earns its stripes. Based on Reebok Zig cushioning from the aughts, it’s springy but sturdy, with soft foam encased in its center and a cut-out cage constructed of firmer foam around its outer reaches. Each pair is then completed by way of a classic gum sole.
The Reebok Zig Kinetica Concept_Type1 “Black/Gum” and “White/Gum” will release on the Reebok webstore come February 21, complete with a retail price of $180 USD.
Elsewhere, Reebok gave its chunky Trail Shadow a vivid “Black/Scarlet” upgrade.
