Reebok is loosening up its most recognizable franchise, reworking the Classic into two slip-on shapes: the Classic Mule and the Classic Slide. Both strip the silhouette down to its essentials and lean into comfort-first, warm-weather styling without abandoning the cues that made the original a lifestyle staple.
The Classic Mule keeps a closed-toe construction, layering suede panels across the upper and threading in subtle Vector-inspired detailing along the sides for a nod to Reebok’s archive. The Classic Slide takes the opposite route, paring things back to overlapping suede straps that read as pure summer utility. It is the same design vocabulary pulled in two directions, one built for a bit more coverage and one for the least possible fuss.
Both pairs arrive in a soft taupe finish, and that monochromatic treatment is doing a lot of the heavy lifting. By keeping the entire upper tonal, Reebok pushes these firmly into the neutral, easy-to-style lane that has come to define much of the modern slip-on market. Branding stays deliberately quiet, with tonal detailing throughout and Classic logos tucked onto the footbeds rather than shouted across the upper. Cushioned footbeds round out the package, positioning both as genuine wear-all-day options rather than novelty pieces.
The move fits a broader pattern of heritage sneaker lines being reshaped into laceless, lifestyle-forward formats, letting a familiar name reach an audience that wants the look with none of the setup. For Reebok, the Mule and Slide are a low-risk way to keep the Classic in rotation year-round, extending an iconic shape into territory built entirely around ease.
