Nike is pulling out all the stops to ensure that the Air Max 90 receives a proper 30th anniversary celebration, and one in-line piece of those efforts is this sleek “Black/Volt” colorway. A classic Nike Sportswear combo that’s been used on silhouettes from the Air Max 95 to the Air Max 270 and beyond, it plays decidedly well on the Air Max 90 — thanks in large part to the 30th anniversary model’s slimmed-down original construction.

Stark and sleek, the black uppers combine a mesh base with synthetic leather overlays. Ridged TPU plates add texture and volt branding alike, with the signature heel badge featuring a Nike Air logo and the memorable midfoot window equipping an Air Max hit. More volt is present on the fabric tongue tag, and light grey Swooshes mix up the yin and yang of dark and vibrant tones by presenting a hue directly in the middle of both. Down below, a black midsole, volt green heel Air Max unit and black outsole complete the look.

The Nike Air Max 90 “Black/Volt” is available now via Nike France, and retails for €140 EUR (approximately $156 USD). A US release is likely to follow shortly.
