Li-Ning Way of Wade 8 Debuts In "Team No Sleep" Colorway
The line’s first performance silhouette since Dwyane Wade’s retirement.
Dwyane Wade may have retired from the NBA, but that just means he has more time to focus on his Way of Wade line, and now that line has debuted its newest performance model: the Way of Wade 8, in a “Team No Sleep” colorway. Frequently worn on court by WoW torch-bearer D’Angelo Russell of the Golden State Warriors, the WoW 8 is packed full of performance tech and meaningful details alike; a hoop shoe with a story.
“Team No Sleep” stylings encompass everything from a stark black base to tropical blue and pink accents, all while presenting a veritable medley of technical features. Uppers are constructed of a durable-yet-breathable Cordura fabric, while the midsoles combine Li-Ning’s proprietary BOOM foam with a full-length carbon fiber plate for responsive cushioning and support. Lockdown arrives by way of a layered lacing system, a forefoot strap and a race car seat-inspired heel piece.
Apart from the performance innovations, the WoW 8 is rife with special details. The most obvious of these is a large reflective Wade logo on the heel, but closer examination reveals other embellishments. The midsole is shaped like a strand of DNA to acknowledge Wade’s tenure, history and influence. One of the outsole’s high-cut pieces that rises onto the heel is even debossed with the announcement made by the late David Stern the night Wade was drafted 5th overall by the Miami Heat in 2003.
The Li-Ning Way of Wade 8 “Team No Sleep” retailed for $225 USD on the Way of Wade webstore, but is currently out of stock. However, you can expect more homage-filled colorways to release over the remainder of the NBA season.
Elsewhere, CLOT and Nike have officially announced an Air Force 1 “Rose Gold Silk” with a campaign starring Donnie Yen.
