Following its Royal Purple rendition of the 801 Trail Runner, New Balance has returned with a tanned, earthy colorway of the silhouette — ML801NEC. This footwear piece features a bevy of premium materials, like nubuck and basket-woven textiles, that shine over a rugged build.

Starting at the top, the sneakers are etched with “New Balance 801” branding at the tongue, over a dark gray woven base framed by wine-colored piping. Round yellow and orange rope laces are placed over the forefoot, complemented by beige mesh that appear just below the upper collars and toe box. At the sidewalls, a crisp white “N” logo is sewn atop a ballistic tanned orange fabric to offset the earthy colors. Wrapping up the upper’s design, the heel is embroidered with “All Terrain” as a nod to the sneaker’s trail-friendly construction, while smooth leather appears along the front mudguards. All of these details sit atop a speckled “ABZORB” midsole, underscored by a thin chestnut-toned outsole as a finishing note.

The New Balance ML801NEC is currently available at SSENSE’s website for $100 USD.

Elsewhere, Reebok has unveiled its latest Instapump Fury Trail, beefed up for the harsh winter climate.
