New Balance's 801 Trail Runner Receives a Royal Purple Makeover
A colorful weather-ready option.

With the winter months now in full force, various brands have released silhouettes adapted for the harsher weather conditions. adidas came out with new colorways of its Torsion TRDC, while Nike offered an Air Max “Utility” Pack. Now, Boston-based New Balance has followed suit with the release of its all-terrain model — the 801 — in a vibrantly contrasting colorway.
Building a more weather-resistant model, New Balance has crafted the 801 with a breathable mesh upper dressed in royal purple, paired with black and grey synthetic leather toecaps and heel counters for added support and toughness. A welcome dash of contrast in the form of bright orange extends up from the lace loops onto the top half of the tongue, following through to the collar of the sneaker. The robust upper then sits on a chunky speckled midsole, wrapped up by an aggressively-treaded outsole to provide ample grip no matter what terrain you’re tackling.
For those interested, New Balance’s latest 801 colorway is now available over on newbalance.com, retailing for $100 USD. Take a closer look in the gallery above, or head over to grab yours now.
Elsewhere in sneakers, the adidas YEEZY BOOST 700 MNVN is releasing in a “Phosphor” colorway.
