Kylian Mbappé's First Nike Collection Pays Tribute to His Hometown Bondy
The youngest player to have his own collection from the sportswear giant.
2018 World Cup champion and FIFA Young Player Award winner Kylian Mbappé is now launching his first collection with Nike, paying tribute to his hometown of Bondy, a Parisian suburb in France. At just 20 years of age, the Paris Saint-Germain forward is both the youngest player and first French footballer to ever get a personal collection from Beaverton. The collection is crowned by his own take of the legendary Mercurial Superfly 7, and includes an Air Max 98, a Nike FC jersey, a hoodie, a T-shirt, a cap, a hip pack, and even a football. The entire range is filled with various nods to both France and Bondy, dressed with a green, black and gold color scheme.
“Bondy is always in my heart; it’s where I found and fell in love with football,” says the French number 10. “It helped shape me as a person and as a player. I have a lot to be thankful for and it is special that Bondy is at the center of this collection. Back then I had my heroes and many of them had their own special edition Nike boot, so to join them in now having one of my own is a dream come true.”
For Mbappé fans out there, the Bondy Dreams Mercurial Superfly 7 will be available globally on December 8 over at Nike’s online store, while the full Bondy Dreams collection will be available on the same day, exclusively in Europe.
