Nike Reworks Air Max 97 Utility in "Thunder Gray/Electric Green"
Equipped with bold 3M highlights.
After unveiling its “Just Do it” pack, Nike has updated its Air Max 97 once again, coloring the silhouette with sleek “Thunder Gray/Electric Green” highlights. The sneakers come in a “Utility” iteration, reengineering the original mold with a bevy of synthetic and retroreflective textiles.
The sneakers are dominated by shades of grey and white around the upper regions, contrasted by bright green accents around the bottom half. Starting at the top, Nike’s check logo is stamped in white, above round laces and 3M strips that cover the tongue. Matching the front pull tab, the heel comes with a branded ripstop pull etched with the words “DURABLE TRACTION VISIBILITY.” Running all the way from front to back, the sidewalls are accented with reflective stripes above a thin green streak. Below it, dark gray leather mudguards extend over the front toe cap and heel counter, while a green mini-Swoosh is placed at the sides. All of these details sit atop a cushioned midsole, complete with an improved full-length Air unit that sports “Electric Green” inners.
The Nike Air Max 97 Utility “Thunder Gray/Electric Green” is currently available at nike.com for $198 USD.
Elsewhere, Vans has deconstructed its BESS NI with “Denim/Marshmallow” highlights.
