New York-based retailer-meets-brand KITH has teamed up with Italian technical apparel and design brand NemeN for a tie-dye capsule consisting of a range of outerwear, pants, and accessories. The first release of the 2020 season for both brands, the seven-piece capsule showcase’s the Italian brand’s innovative pedigree that blends science and fashion into one.
Within the collection, a variety of standout pieces are exemplified, including a Tie-Dye Down Jacket, Blade Jacket, XLight Guard Vest, Futura Kimono, Stark Track Pants, and a Tie-Dye Goose Down Hood. NemeN’s creative director, Leonardo Fasolo, wished to explore the longstanding history of the dyeing technique by imbuing it within the brand’s modern usage of synthetic fibers, with both Ronnie Fieg and Fasolo choosing to douse each piece with various color combinations. Both the Tie-Dye Goose Down Jacket and Blade Jacket each are made up of 2-3 different colors, dyed up-to three times to solidify the head-turning look.
“This triple tie-dye technique results in a superlative end result with an unparalleled color radiance and due to the individual characteristics of each dyeing process, every single jacket becomes singularly unique,” Fasolo shared. The Tie-Dye Down Jacket is equally reversible, featuring a 100% nylon silk touch shell, further stuffed with 90/10 goose down and finished with a water repellent treatment.
The XLight Guard Vest, which has been crafted from custom-engineered lightweight nylon, features 3D pocket construction and contrasting black taping. Rounding out the capsule are the Futura Kimono and the Stark Track Pants, both made from custom high-density nylon. All garments from the range have been produced in Italy and have been marked by a unique KITH x NemeN jacquard woven nylon black lanyard and zipper puller, as well as custom-branded armbands characteristic of the Italian brand’s design.
You can take a look at the capsule above. The pieces will arrive via KITH’s webstore on January 10 at 11 am EST.
