KAPITAL is back with its latest set of pieces, following up multi-colored fleece baseball caps with a trench coat and hospital jacket reconstructed from vibrant American quilts and nylon. Both garments have been put together with a series of intricately detailed patches, reflecting the label’s affinity for putting new spins on classic silhouettes.
First up is the trench coat, which sees a semi-relaxed fit and a cut that extends past the knees. The front of the garment is embellished with a medley of light-colored quilt patches of rich indigos, pink plaids, Victorian-style floral patterns, and thin stripes. Muted cream-colored buttons appear at the central closure, complemented by a sleek waist belt that comes with brass hardware. At the back, quilted olive nylon is placed just below the belt, coming with a single snap button closure for a wide vent that begins at the upper waist.
The hospital jacket is more structured than the trench coat. It comes with standard lapels, two waist pockets, and slightly tapered sleeves. Like the aforementioned silhouette, the piece comes with cream-colored buttons, while sleek nylon textiles appear from the collars and extend all the way down to the hem. Both jackets come with a tiny black tag that reads “WALTZING MATILDA” as finishing details to the reconstructed pieces.
KAPITAL’s Quilted Trench Coat and Hospital Jacket are currently available at the label’s website for $1,893 USD and $945 USD, respectively.
