lululemon Launches Its First GORE-TEX Collection
A six-piece lineup that minimizes the stiffness and rustling typical of high-performance shells. Pre-sales begin Friday, November 13, at three Tokyo locations.
Vancouver-based performance apparel brand lululemon has unveiled “Silent Type™️,” a new outerwear collection in collaboration with GORE-TEX®. The line will be available exclusively at nine BEAMS stores in Japan, with pre-sales starting Friday, November 13, at three Tokyo locations, followed by a wider release at the remaining six stores on Thursday, December 3.
The defining feature of this collection is its ability to deliver GORE-TEX® protection while reducing the stiffness and rustling noise typically associated with high-performance outerwear.
It utilizes the latest ePE (expanded polyethylene) membrane, which offers waterproof, windproof, and breathable qualities. The outer fabric is a proprietary material designed to minimize friction noise, while the lining features brushed tricot. The result is a soft touch and a remarkably quiet wearing experience.
The lineup includes three models: a rain jacket (¥68,800), a raincoat (¥92,800), and a waterproof down jacket (¥128,800). Available in both men’s and women’s styles, the collection offers six pieces in total. The rain jacket and raincoat feature a three-layer construction with waterproof, windproof, and breathable capabilities, fully sealed seams, and multiple pockets. Meanwhile, the waterproof down jacket combines a two-layer structure with 700-fill-power RDS-certified goose down, engineered to provide lightweight warmth even in temperatures as low as -20°C. All pieces share a minimalist design that seamlessly transitions into city life and a relaxed fit ideal for layering.
“Silent Type™️” will pre-launch on Friday, November 13, at three locations: BEAMS MEN Shibuya, BEAMS WOMEN Harajuku, and BEAMS SPORTS. Following this, it will be available from Thursday, December 3, at six additional stores: BEAMS Shinjuku, BEAMS Futakotamagawa, BEAMS HOUSE Marunouchi, BEAMS HOUSE Umeda, BEAMS Nagoya, and BEAMS Toyosu.
Additionally, with the purchase of one eligible item, customers will receive a limited-edition “Back to Life Sports Bottle” designed for the collection. This offer is limited to the first 30 customers at each store and is available while supplies last. Furthermore, a launch party will be held at BEAMS MEN Shibuya on Thursday, November 12, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The event is free and open to the public, featuring a DJ, food, and drinks.
