Trailer for 'Fantasy Island' Remake Ups the Title's Horror Direction
A horror spin on the traditional fantasy drama series.
Blumhouse Productions and Sony Pictures have released a trailer for its upcoming reboot of the 1970s ABC TV classic Fantasy Island. The once whimsical Fantasy-Drama will now lean on its horror influences in this feature film adaptation. Much like the original trailer, the latest look at the film doubles down on the contemporary twists the film will provide given its ’70s and ’80s origins. The official synopsis for the film is as follows:
In Blumhouse’s new spin on Fantasy Island, the enigmatic Mr. Roarke makes the secret dreams of his lucky guests come true at a luxurious but remote tropical resort. But when the fantasies turn into nightmares, the guests have to solve the island’s mystery in order to escape with their lives.
Blumhouse’s Fantasy Island stars Michael Peña, Lucy Hale, Maggie Q, Jimmy O, and Michael Rooker, among others, and is expected to arrive in theaters February 14.
