'Avengers: Endgame' Becomes First-Ever Film to Earn $2.8 Billion USD
Thanks to an update from the official China box office.

Earlier this year, Marvel‘s Avengers: Endgame surpassed Avatar‘s nine year reign as the highest-grossing film of all time. Now, a recent correction from the official China box office system states that Endgame earned an additional $3 million USD, making it the first film to ever bring in $2.8 billion USD.
The news was announced via a chart on Twitter, stating that if Disney were to update its worldwide data, Endgame would be the first $2.8 billion USD film.

According to Comicbook, Avatar is still expected to make a comeback with an anticipated sequel. Director James Cameron is reportedly going to make it an epic return to theaters, however it has now been over 10 years since the first Avatar premiered, so it is unclear how well it will perform.
Elsewhere in entertainment, Studio Ghibli has confirmed that it is currently working producing two new films, including the Hayao Miyazaki-directed How Do You Live?.
