Farfetch’d Has a New Galar Evolution in Pokémon: 'Sword' and 'Shield'
His new form is an ode to English Bobbies.
Following the reveal of a new Weezing form, the latest trailer for Pokémon: Sword and Shield features another Pokémon from the original 151 with a new Galar evolution: Farfetch’d! This Sword-exclusive evolution’s name is Sirfetch’d, a Wild Duck Pokémon that evolves from Farfetch’d after many battles in that specific region.
“They are calm and collected, and they make a point of always battling fairly,” according to a press release from Nintendo. “They are so noble in battle that they are often chosen as a motif for paintings. Of particular note is a painting—famous in the Galar region—that depicts a duel between a Sirfetch’d and an Escavalier.” Just as the Galar region is inspired by the United Kingdom, Sirfetch’d’s design is loosely inspired by the English Bobby police officers of London.
Check out the trailer above and grab Pokémon: Sword and Shield when it arrives November 15 for Nintendo Switch.
