Burna Boy Reflects on Nigerian Independence in "Another Story" Video
Featuring Ghanaian rapper M.anifest.
Burna Boy has just released the visuals for his track, “Another Story,” a reflective song hailing from his latest album, African Giant. Right in time for Nigerian Independence Day on Tuesday, October 1, the record and video paint a sober picture of the country’s history under British rule, backed with a supporting verse from Ghanaian rapper M.anifest along the way.
“To understand Nigeria, you need to appreciate where it comes from,” Burna Boy voices in the opening scenes before images portraying ravaged streets, children with weapons and dead citizens take over. The Nigerian rapper is then seen riding a horse to make his way through the rubble and destruction, before syncing up with M.anifest to finish off the story. Watch it all unfold now in the video above.
African Giant, which was released by the artist in July, also includes features from Jeremih, YG, Future and more. He and Jorja Smith shared their “Gum Body” video earlier this month.
In case you missed it, HYPEBEAST also caught up with the rapper a few weeks ago, where he talked “Afrofusion,” Fela Kuti and more.
