adidas Originals Battles the Elements With GORE-TEX Infinium Thermium-Equipped Stan Smith
The latest tech works alongside premium leather and a classic design.

adidas Originals is updating one of its staple footwear offerings, the Stan Smith, with a GORE-TEX-equipped upper.
The Stan Smith GORE-TEX Infinium Thermium uses the garment specialists’ latest insulation technology to create a model that channels the retro aesthetic alongside tech-indebted weather-ready elements. Infinium Thermium is a super-thin membrane that has been integrated into the toebox, providing insulation around the toes and areas more susceptible to cold air, while allowing the rest of the foot to breathe.
Keeping in tune with the classic design is a host of premium materials, such as full-grain pebbled leather for the upper, smooth leather for the toe box, and green leather for the heel tab. A white rubber cupsole has been added to the new-classic, as has a set of perforated Three Stripes, to keep the traditional theme continued throughout.
A GORE-TEX tag on the rear-quarter and an embossed Infinium logo, which is seen offset from the tag, reworks the design and notes its new technical abilities.
The Stan Smith GORE-TEX Infinium Thermium releases worldwide on October 5 at adidas Originals stores, online and select stockists.
In other news, adidas Originals has released a trio of Parley-adapted ZX Torsion BOOSTs.
