'Farming' Takes a Look at a Forgotten Part of British History

The first trailer from the actor-director Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje — better known as Adebisi from classic TV series Oz – has been unveiled. Called Farming, the film is an autobiographical tale based on the director’s life, the title refers to an informal fostering system used in the United Kingdom during the ‘60s and ‘70s.

In the hope of giving their child a better life, title character Enitan’s parents given him for fostering to a White British family who live in a majority white neighborhood. The film recounts his many trials and tribulations in the area as he goes from racism bully victim to leader of the skinhead gang who once terrorized him.  Farming will be released in the UK on October 11 and in the US on October 25, you can watch the trailer for yourself above.

In other news, His Dark Materials sees James McAvoy battling the mystical elements.
