'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare' Reboot Drops a 4K Gunfight Gameplay Preview
Captured on a Sony PlayStation 4 Pro.
Since Activision and Infinity Ward‘s announcement to reboot Call of Duty: Modern Warfare — arguably the franchise’s most popular and beloved game — much anticipation has built around the upcoming release, with a trailer introducing new characters, maps, and weapons dropping earlier in May. Now, in response to the fan requests, Infinity Ward has released a fresh video showcasing gameplay of the reboot’s new multiplayer game mode in 4K brilliance, captured on a Sony PlayStation 4 Pro.
The new game mode, called Gunfight, involves two teams of two facing each other off in smaller-sized maps. Each round of the game is a mere 40 seconds long, and the primary objective is to eliminate the enemy team. If players still stand after the allocated timeframe, an overtime flag will appear. The objective then becomes to defend the flag for three seconds. In both scenarios, the winning team will earn a point, and the first team to reach six points will win the game. As for weaponry, all loadouts will be mirrored and change every round and will be game mode-specific.
Gunfight is only one of many multiplayer modes to be featured in the upcoming Modern Warfare reboot. The rest of the game’s multiplayer experience will be unveiled on August 1 via Call of Duty‘s Twitch channel. Fans of the franchise should definitely mark their calendars.
