Tinashe Delivers Her Own Spin On Chris Brown & Drake's "No Guidance"
Her first major release of 2019.
Without a doubt, Chris Brown and Drake’s recent joint single “No Guidance” is already on course to be one of this summer’s biggest collaborative cuts. Now, Tinashe is serving up her own spin on the headline-dominating record.
“I think people respect me as an artist now. I’ve been making art for a good number of years. People have got past the point where they think I’m just a cute girl or a mindless puppet of a record label,” Tinashe explained to The Guardian last year, sharing some insight into her current motivations. “I’ve come to realize that I’m not going to stop making music if it isn’t a hit. I can say the same for the next album and the next album. So be it. I’m going to continue to make art and everything’s gonna be OK. I’m happy and confident and excited and proud of what I’ve done. Life is all right!”

Although Tinashe’s has been pretty quiet on the musical front in 2019, she made waves last year with the release of her long-awaited sophomore album JOYRIDE. Three years in the making, that LP gave fans 13 new tracks and paired Tinashe’s vocals with contributions from Offset, Future, French Montana, Ty Dolla $ign and Little Dragon. Tinashe’s debut studio album, Aquarius, landed in 2014.
