Flying Lotus and Anderson .Paak Drop "More" Video (UPDATE)
The visual was directed by the iconic ‘Cowboy Bebop’ animator Shinichiro Watanabe.
Update: Flying Lotus drops the video for “More” featuring Anderson .Paak alongside a slew of North American dates for his award-winning live 3D show. The new visual is directed by the iconic animator Shinichiro Watanabe, the man behind the lens of Cowboy Bebop. Flying Lotus and Shinichiro Watanabe clicked when they were working on BLADE RUNNER: BLACK OUT 2022, which led to them collaborating on this video.
About the video, Watanabe says, “Flying Lotus’ sound and Anderson Paak’s rap on this track are just incredible. Their work greatly inspired me to direct this music video for them with some of the finest anime talents in Japan. Flying Lotus is such an amazing talent, so it is a great honor to work with Flying Lotus again after our first collaboration on BLADE RUNNER: BLACK OUT 2022. We like working with each other so much that we are already collaborating on another series project of mine called CAROLE & TUESDAY. Our creative team worked really hard to create this video for Lotus and we hope we did justice to this wonderful new track. Please enjoy!”

Original Story: A couple weeks ago, Flying Lotus shared two new singles in support of his forthcoming Flamagra LP, “Takashi” and “Spontaneous.” Now, the sound-shifting producer is back with another release off his next major project; this time around, FlyLo links up with Anderson .Paak for “More.”
“We started this song about six years ago. Pretty much, like right away. It was early, it was early. You know, but I didn’t have a project yet and it was like in the very beginning when I was starting to work on my new stuff,” Flying Lotus explains to Zane Lowe, opening up about the origins of “More” for an exclusive Beats 1 exchange. “So the song has been, it’s been around but it hadn’t been finished. It was a good demo. It was a good demo for a long time. And we were like, ‘we’ve gotta finish the song.’ He kept asking me, anytime I ran into him, ‘Aye, man, you finished the song, man?’ and it was, you know, we knew then it was a good track. We’ve been talking about it for forever. When is our shit going to drop? When it our… Well, soon, soon. So I’m glad it’s out. It’s done.”
You can stream Flying Lotus and Anderson .Paak’s new collaborative single “More” below. Flying Lotus’ sixth full-length studio album, Flamagra, is scheduled to see release on May 24 via Warp Records. Concerning the sonic direction and themes of Flamagra, FlyLo calls the project a “refuge for pain” and an attempt at “trying to make the most” out of those feelings.
