DC Universe's First Trailer for 'Swamp Thing' Brings Horror to the Streaming Service
Welcome to The Green.
Following rumors of the show shutting down and the subsequent release of a teaser, the first official trailer for Swamp Thing has arrived. The visuals give off a distinct horror vibe, as expected from executive producer James Wan (Aquaman), who is more prominently known for his The Conjuring universe.
The show takes place within the existing Titans and Doom Patrol universe, but the series is expected to stay true to Alan Moore‘s source material. Wan also stated that the film will borrow some human vs monster elements from Beauty and The Beast.
The show is said to be focused on Holland (played by Andy Bean) before becoming Swamp Thing and as well as his love interest Abby Arcane, (actress Crystal Reed). While Arcane investigates an alleged swamp virus in rural Louisiana, she discovers the swamp itself holds other terrifying secrets.
The rest of Swamp Thing‘s cast includes Kevin Durand as Floronic Man, Henderson Wade as Matt Cable, and Ian Ziering as Blue Devil.
Check out the footage above then catch Swamp Thing when it premieres on DC Universe on May 31.
