'Swamp Thing' Teaser Trailer Surfaces Amid Rumors of the Show Shutting Down
The series is still set to premiere May 31.
A new teaser trailer for DC Universe‘s live-action Swamp Thing series has surfaced amid rumors of the show abruptly shutting down today. The footage above showcases the titular character, who is actually the consciousness of scientist Alec Holland latched onto a monstrous plant-creature created from a chemical explosion.
Reports today suggested that production of the show had halted with 3 episodes left to film. Cast member Virginia Madsen made a post on Instagram stating “I’m beyond sad. What a terrible decision. We have been cut to the core by those who have never set foot into the Swamp.” However, only a short time later, footage from all official DC Comics handles posted the teaser.
The show is said to be focused on Holland (played by Andy Bean) before becoming Swamp Thing and as well as his love interest Abby Arcane, (actress Crystal Reed).
Check out the footage above then catch Swamp Thing when it premieres on DC Universe on May 31.
In other entertainment news, John Cena is in talks to join The Suicide Squad.
