Though Stüssy‘s Spring 2019 collection is already available in stores, the long-running label has another seasonal surprise in store. The streetwear stalwart’s Spring 2019 campaign T-shirt is a lighthearted tribute to the legacy of the recently-deceased Karl Lagerfeld.
Chanel‘s longtime creative director left a museum’s-worth of iconic campaign and advertisement imagery in his wake, one of which is given the Stüssy subversion via the Californian brand’s Spring 2019 campaign T-shirt. In a parody of one of Chanel Beauty’s classic ads, Stüssy’s latest graphic tee showcases a model holding a perfume bottle in front of her right eye, with more understated jewelry than the image that inspired the shot. To complete the tribute, Chanel’s interlocking “C” logo has been swapped for Stüssy’s dual “S” branding, while the rear of the tee is emblazoned with “Printemps-été 2019,” French for “Spring/Summer 2019.”
