‘Tolkien’ Meets His Fellowship in New Trailer
More details on J.R.R. Tolkien’s epic biopic are previewed.
The newest trailer for Fox Searchlight’s Tolkien showcases author J.R.R. Tolkien before he wrote his acclaimed The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and even gives insight to what influenced those stories.
The footage above features Tolkien’s (Nicholas Hoult) fascination with language, which partly inspired the Elvish language of Middle Earth, alongside his involvement in the First World War and the friends he made along the way. It also showcases his romance with Edith Bratt (Lily Collins) and how the war threatened to tear him and his newfound “fellowship” apart. “This is more than just a friendship,” one of his buddies says in the visuals. “It’s an alliance. An invincible alliance,” he continues before Tolkien concludes with “a fellowship.”
Tolkien premieres in theaters May 10.
