NetherRealm’s new trailer for Mortal Kombat 11 showcases a time travel-heavy storyline that sees several playable characters from the franchise team-up and fight each other, even different versions of themselves. The trailer also confirms several playable characters from MKX, such as Jacqui Briggs, Cassie Cage, and Erron Black.

The game’s new baddie comes in the form of Kronika, an individual tasked to oversee time whose has grown weary of Raiden’s constant manipulation of it since Mortal Kombat 9. In the visuals above, we see current day Papa Cage meeting his playboy uber Hollywood counterpart as a younger man, and Kotal Khan siding with Raiden to take on longtime antagonist Shao Khan, who’s teamed up with Kronika.

Check out the video above, and grab Mortal Kombat 11 when it debuts April 23.

In other time travel entertainment news, Avengers: Endgame could be Robert Downey Jr.’s last MCU movie.
