Hare Squead, a Dublin-based rap duo, drops the video for their single “100 Miles,” which was directed by Isaac Nelson. The lo-fi black-and-white video for the single finds the duo — compromised of Tony Konstone and Lilo Blues, who also co-produced the record with Mont Jake, a Danish producer and artist signed to Island Records — exploring the woods while shooting footage on their iPhones and an old digital camera. On the inspiration behind the song, they credit a classic Aretha Franklin record for the idea.
“This song is about doing the most for the one that you love,” they explain to HYPEBEAST about the inspiration of the song. “Overcoming obstacles, not letting anything stand in the way. It was inspired by the feeling of Aretha Franklin’s ‘Say A Little Prayer.’ The video was meant to contrast with the music in order to heighten the emotions in the song.”
“100 Miles” is the first song from the duo in 18 months. Hare Squead is also looking to drop multiple projects this year. Watch the video above.
