A First Look at New Balance's 990v5 Silhouette
Updating a classic.
New Balance has returned to its iconic 990 silhouette for the upcoming 990v5, set to release later this year. The sneaker comes dressed in the classic grey colorway associated with its predecessors, with an upper constructed from mesh and high-quality suede.
Other features of the sneaker include new rubber detailing around the ankle collar, as well as Made in USA tongue branding, ENCAP tooling and a red and black “V5” logo on the heel. Currently there is no official release date for the sneaker, although it is slated to drop in Spring 2019. The updated silhouette also features in Junya Watanabe’s upcoming New Balance collaboration.
