First Trailer for Christopher Nolan's 'TENET' Is Filled With Time Manipulation and Espionage
Starring John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Michael Caine, & more.
Besides a few lucky fans catching a teaser trailer over the summer — which leaked online — not many details surrounding Christopher Nolan‘s upcoming film TENET have surfaced thus far…until now.
Warner Bros. has finally shared the first full-length trailer for the highly-anticipated project starring John David Washington (BlacKkKlansman) and Robert Pattinson. Just like the teaser, the visuals feature the film’s protagonist, portrayed by Washington, getting thrown into the action as he embarks on a mission to prevent World War III, something hinted at that’s worst than nuclear holocaust. It also looks as if time manipulation will play a big role in the film as scenes of car crashes and events are shown in reverse. The trailer also features score work by Ludwig Göransson, the Oscar-winning composer behind the Black Panther soundtrack. IMDB itemizing describes the movie as “an action epic revolving around international espionage, time travel, and evolution.”
The arrival of the trailer was teased via TENET‘s social media accounts, which showcased the movie’s logo spinning like a clock, stopping on a few specific numbers: 12/19/19.
TENET will be the eleventh offering from Nolan, who last graced cinephiles with Dunkirk. Along with Washington and Pattinson, the film will also star Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Himesh Patel, Dimple Kapadia, Michael Caine, Kenneth Branagh, and Elizabeth Debicki.
Look for TENET to land in theaters July 17, 2020.
On the film Pattinson shared with USA Today that he was “locked in a room” without being given a personal copy of the script. “I’ve been a little wary of doing big movies for years and years, but there’s just something about Chris Nolan’s stuff,” he said. “He seems like the only director now who can do what is essentially a very personal, independent movie that has huge scale.”
