THE NORTH FACE PURPLE LABEL Delivers More Easygoing Essentials for SS20
Timeless outerwear, washed-out denim and an array of essential accessories.
Eiichiro Homma‘s ever-covetable THE NORTH FACE PURPLE LABEL is one of the outdoor brand’s most popular sub-labels, offering an appealing blend of laid-back styling and effortless utilitarianism. For Spring/Summer 2020, the Japanese line continues mining its tried-and-true blend of retro gear and contemporary technology, yielding a selection of new pieces alongside old favorites.
Staple items, like branded hoodies, corduroy coaches jackets and relaxed denim pants appear throughout, accented by a host of statement layering pieces. Rain-ready ponchos, 50/50 plaid shirts and several tie-dyed items make for muted statement pieces that fit neatly into THE NORTH FACE PURPLE LABEL’s oeuvre, bolstered by bold zebra patterns that add another layer of head-turning appeal. There’s still plenty of classics with a twist, however, delivered by way of fleece pullovers, slouchy henleys and baggy climbing pants.
A rich assortment of accessories rounds out the range, from slide sandals to bandanas to small fanny packs. Dad caps and bucket hats reinforce THE NORTH FACE PURPLE LABEL’s ’90s influences, available in a variety of complementary washes and textiles, like faded grey cotton and soft twill. Elsewhere, THE NORTH FACE PURPLE LABEL’s famed backpacks receive a muted rework, accompanied by new designs, like a sling pouch and shoulder-strapped shopper bags, all keeping in line with the label’s aesthetic of daily ease.
Expect the new goods to arrive overseas at The North Face Prototype store in Williamsburg early next year. It’ll also be available at THE NORTH FACE PURPLE LABEL’s myriad Japanese stockists — some of which ship direct to international customers across the globe, like DIGITAL MOUNTAIN and Reggie Shop.
Meanwhile, the Western branch of The North Face recently introduced a series of Dover Street Market London-exclusive goods.
