Knxwledge Samples JAY-Z, UGK, and Young Thug in 'WT_PRT15.'
A 10-track installment of his ‘WrapTaypes’ series.
After announcing a December release for HX.PRT_13.8 via Bandcamp, Stones Throw and Los Angeles-based beatmaker Knxwledge returns with yet another installment of his WrapTaypes series in WT_PRT15. This 10-track effort showcases sampled works from JAY-Z‘s “Dead Presidents,” UGK‘s “International Players Anthem,” and Young Thug‘s “Surf” from his recently released project So Much Fun. The series continues the trend of using carefully sampled rap vocals over an assortment of percussions and melodies. This installment follows the recent release of Knx’s 29-track TodaysAlreadYesterday, which noticeably used little to no samples in lieu of more original sounds.
