Idris Elba Joins Q-Tip and Little Simz for James BKS Track "New Breed"

The multifaceted Idris Elba has recently lent his talents to the music world, joining Q-Tip and Little Simz for French producer James BKS’ single “New Breed.” Along with the song, the artists have also shared the official music video, an animated and trippy spot that sets the backdrop for the reflective lyrics.
The visual was directed by Stevie Gee Essy May and produced by Hugo Donkin. Each rapper takes their turn on James BKS’ smooth beat, running through topics like gentrification, racism and black pride. Listen to the entire record and watch the video now by scrolling above.
James BKS is signed to Elba’s 7Wallace record label, which the actor launched in July of 2018. “Little Simz, Idris Elba, Q-Tip, and me strongly and proudly represent the New Breed movement, a different way to approach music with no borders, no judgment, no labels,” James BKS said in a statement. “We have learned from our past mistakes and victories and our eyes are on Africa, while in the meantime we embrace our own personal paths, respectively in the U.K. for Little Simz and Idris Elba, in the U.S. for Q-Tip and in France for me.”
Most recently, Q-Tip hopped on Danny Brown’s “Best Life” single, while Elba can be seen starring in season 5 of Luther. Q-Tip is also slated to perform at the upcoming 4xFAR in January.
