Donnie Yen Returns in 'IP Man 4' Teaser Trailer
This time he’s taking on the United States military.
Donnie Yen has returned for IP Man 4 and in the teaser trailer above, it appears the legendary Wing Chun Kung Fu master will take his talents to the United States. The short footage showcases Yen’s IP Man throwing hits on his now-iconic training blocks before showing him entering a training base and taking a stance against a U.S. military fighter played by Scott Adkins.
According to the plot synopsis:
“Ip Man’s life remains unchanged after his wife’s death, but he and his son are slowly drifting apart. To seek a better future for his son, Ip Man decides to travel to the U.S. only to find the stable, peaceful life abroad is only skin deep. Underneath lies a deep rooted racial discrimination that is far worse than he has expected. Ip Man re-examines his position and ponders on the reason he took up martial arts in the beginning.”
Following the events of IP Man 3, we also find out IP Man is visiting the United States to catch up with his former student Bruce Lee, who begun teaching Wing Chun Kung Fu in a school of his own.
Check out the footage above, and catch IP Man 4 when it releases in theaters on December 25.
