S-K-A-T-E Battles Decide Week 3 of the 'Women’s Battle at the Berrics'
Jenn Soto, Candy Jacobs, Chelsea Castro, and Christiana Means go all out.
The Berrics are in the third week of the inaugural Women’s Battle At The Berrics, and had skateboard pros Jenn Soto, Candy Jacobs, Chelsea Castro, and Christiana Means facing off in a match of S-K-A-T-E. The rules are similar to Horse, and the game was made iconic by the beloved Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series.
In each round, the participants compete to pull off a set of challenges, whoever messes up gets one letter. The first to spell out “S-K-A-T-E” loses. Of course, there are a few rules on what tricks can be performed, like restrictions against doing light ground tricks.
The first-round match saw Jenn Soto go against Candy Jacobs, with a close match-up decided by a mere few slip-ups. Each skater is pushed to the limit, with plenty of precise executions impressing the crowd, like Soto’s smooth Fakie 360 Flip and Jacobs’ precise Backside 180 Heelflip. Next, Chelsea Castro went up against Christiana Means in their own first round, with Means notably serving up a seamless Ollie Late Shuvit.
