New 'Bad Boys for Life' Trailer Sees Will Smith & Martin Lawrence Getting up to Their Old Antics
Said to be the final installment in the franchise.
After debuting the first trailer earlier this fall, Sony Pictures has just shared new action-packed visuals for its anticipated Bad Boys for Life film.
The Bad Boys franchise originally kicked off in 1995 — followed by Bad Boys II in 2003 — and the Bad Boys for Life sequel will see both Will Smith and Martin Lawrence reprising their roles of detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett.
In the new trailer, Lawrence’s Burnett has been promoted to police inspector while Smith’s Lowery finds himself in the middle of a midlife crisis. As both men prepare to retire, a Romanian mob boss comes after them in retaliation on behalf of his brother. The visuals are then of course injected with comedy, action, and Mike Lowery’s expensive cars and suits. The iconic duo will be joined by Vanessa Hudgens, Joe Pantoliano (reprising the role of dyspeptic Captain Howard), Charles Melton and Alexander Ludwig. Check out the new trailer above.
The original film earned $141 million USD at the box office and helped to catapult Smith and Lawrence to stardom while establishing Michael Bay’s reputation as one of Hollywood’s top action directors. Bay has since left the franchise, handing directing duties to Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah.
Bad Boys for Life hits theaters January 17, 2020.
