Helmut Lang Taps Artist Marc Hundley for Limited-Edition, Hand-Stenciled Pieces
As part of its Resort 2020 collection.
After partnering with artists Josephine Meckseper and PZ Opassuksatit earlier this year for a series of hand-painted pieces and a love-themed collection, respectively, Helmut Lang returns with another artist-based collaboration. This time, Helmut Lang has teamed up with artist and designer Marc Hundley for a reinterpretation of the brand’s logo for part of its Resort 2020 collection.
As a teenager, Hundley attended a Helmut Lang show in Paris. Using this experience as inspiration for the upcoming collection, Hundley’s nostalgic take on the logo informs short sleeve tees and hooded sweatshirts, along with a limited run of hand-stenciled trucker jackets and jeans. Relaxed short sleeves, available in white and black colorways, are printed with Hundley’s playful logo design on the fronts and read “Helmut Lang Printemps/Été 2020” in bold letters on the back. The black hoodie is similarly printed, but the front and back sport the designs in reverse.
For a more raw aesthetic, medium blue wash trucker jackets and jeans feature a hand-stenciled “Helmut Lang” logo in contrasting white lettering. While the garments maintain a clean, simplistic look, the back pocket of the jeans and entirety of the jacket’s back are covered with the artist’s unique design.
Retailing from $195 to $275 USD, the Marc Hundley x Helmut Lang short sleeves and hoodies will be available November 5 on Helmut Lang’s website and at in-store locations. Priced between $415 and $495 USD, the trucker jacket and jeans will only be available in-store.
In case you missed it, Helmut Lang headed to Redhead Days Festival in Tilburg, Netherlands to celebrate its Fall/Winter 2019 collection.
