The New 'Ip Man 3' Official Trailer Shows a Young Bruce Lee
The rise of a legend.
We’ve already gotten a glimpse of what to expect from Mike Tyson in the highly anticipated third installment of the Ip Man film narrative, but the latest trailer provides a first look at one of the martial arts master’s greatest students: Bruce Lee. After establishing a legacy in the tutelage of the Wing Chun style of Chinese martial arts, Ip Man took numerous pupils under his wing. Among those students was the late Enter the Dragon star. Along with this surprise appearance, the new trailer also reveals a more in-depth understanding of the forthcoming film’s plot. In the clip, we see a clear power struggle between the criminal underground and police forces in Ip Man’s newly adopted home of Hong Kong. There is also perhaps a hint of foreshadowed rebellion in one of the grandmaster’s apprentices, played by Zhang Jin. Ip Man 3 is set for an American theatrical release this week on January 22.
