Disney+ Had Over 3.2 Million Mobile Downloads at Launch
Despite constant connectivity issues.

According to reports, Disney+‘s mobile app was downloaded 3.2 million times during its first day, despite constant connectivity issues at launch. According to the research firm Apptopia, “About 89% of the downloads were in the U.S., with 9% in Canada and 2% in the Netherlands (the initial three countries where Disney Plus is available).” Although Disney+ is available on an array of platforms, the numbers above don’t include downloads from Xbox, PlayStation, and others.
Although the public won’t hear anything about subscription numbers until Disney‘s quarterly earnings until February of next year, it’s safe to say the newly debuted streaming service has a successful launch. With flagship original content like The Mandalorian and the marketing of its service, many titles both new and old on the platform were trending on Twitter.
In related Disney+ news, users pointed out that the aspect ratio for old episodes of The Simpsons is incorrect.
