Versace Blends Italian Heritage & NYC Energy for Pre-Fall 2019 Collection
The luxury label’s first runway showcase in America.

Last month, Versace revealed plans to introduce its Pre-Fall 2019 collection in New York, choosing to give the Big Apple the honor of being the first American city to experience an exclusive Versace runway presentation. Now, as promised, the collection has been unveiled via a high-profile showcase.
“I am very excited to present Versace for the very first time in New York,” Donatella Versace shared via an official statement. “I wanted to pay homage to this incredible city, bringing the sartorial heritage of Milan and fusing it with the energy of New York and its eclectic nature. This collection is the result of this.”
Notably, Versace’s Pre-Fall 2019 collection featured a wide array of prints inspired by the label’s Italian origins, the rebirth of the Safety Pin dress, a blend of “earthy” tones and the “vibrancy” of New York City, and the Love Versace heart print, which were influenced by Jim Dine’s work for Gianni Versace’s New York townhouse. Notable celebrity guests like Kanye West, Lupita Nyong’o, Bradley Cooper, Blake Lively, Young Thug, Paris Jackson, Kim Kardashian, 21 Savage, 2 Chainz and others were in attendance.
“Very much like New York itself – always celebrating its traditions and yet constantly pushing boundaries to build a better future – Versace’s men and women swiftly move between their mythological world and their cosmopolitan, modern city life,” reads an official statement from Versace.
