Global sneaker and fashion retailer Commonwealth has linked up with sportswear brand adidas to create an updated take on the ZX 500 model. To be released under the Consortium tier, this special iteration is actually inspired by the coastal lifestyles found in Virginia Beach, Los Angeles and the Philippines — the three locations also signify where Commonwealth’s stores are located.
See-through material and aquatic-inspired colors are utilized on the model to further emphasize the coastal aspect of the design. Uppers are crafted from synthetic suede which is then combined with translucent monofilament mesh for a clean, layered look. TPU welded overlays are then added for improved structure while the embroidered three stripes deliver more textured detailing. Finally, BOOST technology can be found on the midsole for comfort and co-branded insignias are emblazoned on the insoles for an artful update.
The Commonwealth x adidas consortium ZX 500 RM will release on December 8 (USA only) and then on December 15 for a wider global release at Consortium account retailers.
