The Weeknd Is Being Sued Over 'Starboy' Comic
Writer Eymun Talasazan says he came up with the concept in 2014.
Having only been released earlier this year, The Weeknd and Marvel‘s joint Starboy comic is already finding itself under fire.
According to TMZ The Weeknd and his “Starboy” alter-ego is being sued by writer Eymun Talasazan, who says that he came up with the concept back in 2014. The report went on to state that Talasazan had created a very similar comic book universe that also “revolved around R&B and rap stars” as superheros. Talasazan approached The Weeknd’s team about a possible collaboration in 2017, but nothing ever came to fruition. Talasazan went on to claim that he filed a trademark for a comic book hero version of “Starboy.”
The Weeknd x Marvel’s Starboy comic landed back in June. Stay tuned for more details as the story unfolds.
Earlier this month, The Weeknd announced his new album, Chapter 6.
