Sheck Wes & Nike Introduce Inaugural NYC Editions Collection
Wes created a special NYC/LA Blazer Mid and Air Max 95.
Nike’s House of Innovation isn’t the only major event the sneaker giant announced this week; Nike also introduced its NYC Editions series, in which it partners with New York creatives for special releases. The first curator is none other than Harlem’s Sheck Wes, whose collaborative Air Max 95 and Blazer Mid have already surfaced online.
Sporting a black base, each sneaker offers imagery and laces inspired by Wes’ dual homes of NYC and Los Angeles. Juxtaposing New York orange with LA purple, the Air Max 95 are slightly more bold than the Blazer Mid, which boasts a black and white color scheme offset by colorful laces, tongues and outsoles. City embroidery appears on the heel of the Blazer, while both sneakers offer thematic prints on the insoles.
The sneakers and accompanying clothing drop today via Social Studies NYC and Nike’s website.
Further commemorating the launch of Nike’s House of Innovation, the sportswear behemoth debuted a special “Noise Cancelling” pack.
