Kim Kardashian Confirms New 'Yandhi' Release Date
He also later shares on TMZ that he’s going to Africa to record ‘Yandhi.’
Though Kanye West‘s Yandhi was supposedly all set for release on September 29, the date came and went without any new music. Instead, the rapper hit Saturday Night Live and delivered a controversial speech.
Today however, Kim Kardashian suddenly tweeted a revised release date of November 23 for the album. “TRUST ME,” she said. “it is worth the wait.” Along with a host of emojis, the pop culture icon confirmed that the album will drop on Black Friday, nearly two months after the initial release date. This isn’t West’s first album delay, as Life of Pablo was delayed due to Chance the Rapper back in 2016. That’s to say nothing of West’s other projects that saw revision, like ye and KTSE, though the latter’s revisions were never completed.
Kanye also made his return to TMZ offices for another visit and broke down why he didn’t release Yandhi on Sept. 29 like he promised. He said that he “didn’t finish” the album in time and he wanted to make sure people will understand the concepts and sounds on the album.
He explained, “We have concepts talking about body shaming, and women being looked down upon for how many people that they slept with. It’s just a full Ye album and those five albums I dropped earlier were like…superhero rehabilitation. And now the alien Ye is fully back in mode, off the medication, working out, breathing as much fresh air as possible. Thinking, doing, being himself.” He later revealed that he’s going to Africa in two weeks to record and clarified his comments about the 13th Amendment “abolish.”
Mark your calendars for November 23, when the new album will supposedly launch.
Elsewhere, Swizz Beats and Chris Evans derided West’s SNL monologue.
