Here's How the Sports World Responded to Trump's Attacks on the NBA and NFL
“Going to White House was a great honor until you showed up!”
On Friday, President Donald Trump turned a campaign rally for “Big” Luther Strange in Huntsville, Alabama to a public blast on two of the world’s biggest sporting stages: the NBA and the NFL. In his speech, Trump attacked the NFL players who refused to stand during the national anthem out of protest to racism and police violence stating, “Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when someone disrespects our flags to say, ‘Get that son of a bitch off the field right now! Out. He’s fired! He’s fired!’”
Taking one step further, the POTUS unleashed a series of tweets on Saturday morning taking aim at Golden State Warriors Stephen Curry for declining a visit to the White House. With that, plenty of athletes took to social media to respond to Trump’s sporting attacks, all while creating the latest viral hashtag #UBum. Check out some of the responses below from the likes of LeBron James and sportswear giant Under Armour.
If a player wants the privilege of making millions of dollars in the NFL,or other leagues, he or she should not be allowed to disrespect….
