RAVEN Projects at CIFF Is a Window Into Copenhagen's Burgeoning Streetwear Scene
Set against the backdrop of the world-famous Copenhagen lifestyle.
Consistently cited as one of the world’s trailblazing fashion trade fairs amidst an unfavorable economic climate, the Copenhagen International Fashion Fair (CIFF) has bucked the trend of trade show closures worldwide thanks to its no-holds-barred approach to curating the most creatively stimulating environment anywhere in Northern Europe. Its location within the Danish capital of Copenhagen contributes in no small part to the lively and convivial atmosphere within the expansive premises of the Bella Center, while the city’s promise of la belle vie lies just a few minutes’ subway ride away.
CIFF’s Spring/Summer 2017 edition continued to bring together the most exciting talents in the fashion industry, with its highly curated RAVEN Projects section playing host to a BEAMS showcase of Japan’s best independent labels, alongside collaborations with Vetements’ Maja Weiss and Lulu Kennedy of Fashion East. Other brands invited to exhibit in the RAVEN space included A-COLD-WALL*, Tonsure, 424, Necessity Sense and Second/Layer, offering a tantalizing glimpse of the mature state of Copenhagen’s status as a fashion capital within Europe as well as internationally. Buoyed by a host of insightful talks as well as a healthy roster of after-hours social gatherings in Copenhagen proper, CIFF proved once again to be a hotbed of discussion, connection and innovation injected with a dose of the laidback Copenhagen lifestyle.
