Mercedes-Benz Will Unveil Its "Dangerously Fast" Electric Sedan at Paris Motor Show
Will this transforming concept car beat the Tesla Model S?
Mercedes-Benz will presumably showcase its latest electric sedan concept at this year’s Paris Motor Show in September. The Stuttgart-based automotive company hopes that its all-electric vehicle will surpass the Tesla Model S in terms of its sportive specifications — describing it as “dangerously fast.” The luxurious concept car is actually an intelligent aerodynamic automobile (IAA) — taking the silhouette of a large four-door coupé that features an aerodynamic mode when the car hits 80 km/h.
The car is reminiscent of vehicles in the “S-Class” and “S-Class Coupé” series, and will offer sleek touch controls. For example, with one push of a button, the car’s design will incredibly change shape (making it more aerodynamic) — front flaps located in the front bumper will extend and eight sections in the rear bumper will expand, all of which to enhance the airflow of the underbody. This all-wheel-drive concept will also contain a battery compartment underneath the front passenger seat that can run for 310 miles.
